Psychiatrists consistently refuse to listen to the stories of their patients in coming to a final determination of their mental health status. This is dead wrong because more often than not the patients stories really are true and explain how irregular life circumstances, including such hardships as poverty, abusive families, and exposure to alcohol, cigarette smoke, and bad foods have been causing their problems and not mental illness!
