CCHR wants a Congressional investigation of FDA alleged conflicts of interest in dealing with ECT!

Kelly Patricia O’Meara has reported the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) has requested that Congress investigate what seems to be serious conflicts of interest which are driving the decision of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to allow the wider use electroshock “treatment” (ECT). It was reported by The Washington Post on July 18, 2016, that the FDA has determined that for some patients, the use of electroshock—up to 460 volts of damaging electricity through the brain, is beneficial and, therefore, justifies a lower risk classification for the shock device. The CCHR has charged that this could particularly put vulnerable children and the elderly at risk. The CCHR is right on target. ECT can cause brain damage and death in anyone and there is no scientific evidence to support ECT works at all. MandelNews.com
